Calling All Musicians, specifically Pianists, Violinists and Woodwinds!
Do you wanna play on a score for a short animated film featuring Gary Oldman that will be screened at the Sundance Film Festival next week?
Well, here’s what’s going on! Our short film, The Man With A Turnip For A Head has a great original score written by musicinyouhead. We need to take her score that is performed on a synthesizer and transpose it to REAL instruments.
Here’s what to do:
- Listen to the score with headphones and play along
- Normally I am a fan of variation and deviation, but not this time. TRY TO PLAY AS PRECISELY TO THE ORIGINAL SCORE as you can because it specifically caters to every nuance and beat of Gary’s voice.
- Record your instrument seperately and contribute it to the collaboration.
The instruments are:
- A REAL PIANO, with hammers and strings, no keyboards.
- Violin
- Oboe, but a clarinet or other woodwinds are good too.
- If you play another instrument feel free to contribute it if you think it works.
Okay, we got just about a week to bang this out, and then we will be finished with one of our projects for next week :)
Thanks Again

I would love to try this out (I play the violin), but I have no way of recording audio and I’m not really a play-by-ear type of person :( I’ll see if I can think of anything though….
